Welcome!

Dragon trouble? The guy on the white horse just may be on this blog! Harry the Talking Hand sometimes stops by as well. Feel free to share your questions, comments, and/or advice about life at NSU.

Just about every class day, there will be a short assignment on this blog asking you to post your thoughts on the IDL class and NSU in general. It might be good to make yourself a blog "follower" so that you are aware of each assignment as soon as it is posted.

To get started, here's a test of the blog process.  Click on the "comments" post below and, in the box that opens up, comment on one thing that's made you happy in the last couple of weeks.

You can post as an "anonymous" blogger if you like, but, if you do, be sure to put your name after the post so I know who to give credit to.

  1. Hey there! My name is Reeba Sullivan, and I am from Milbank, SD. I am attending NSU online for Spanish. This is my second degree as I graduated from DSU in 2016 and will be going into my sixth year of teaching elementary students in the fall. Something that made me happy in the last few weeks is that I am getting the opportunity to nanny a friend of mine's child for the summer. We are having a blast together and even got matching swim suits!

    1. Hello Reba,

My major is Spanish as well and I must admit my beginning has been rough. But, I’m confident with practice and consistency I’ll grasp the language. How’s it been for you thus far?

  2. Hi Ancient Art,

The warmer weather and the ability to do more outdoor activities brings me a lot of joy.

    Thank you,

    1. Yes, the warm weather is bringing a smile to my face as well. I’m looking forward to listening to music or reading a nice book with a refreshing cold beverage and viewing views of the ocean or sitting poolside! 😊

  3. Hello everyone, my name is Ebonie and I’ve never been to South Dakota before — how is it up there? I’m originally from Kansas, but currently reside in Texas. Although, I travel a lot for business and due to constantly needing a change of scenery. I like the feeling of being renewed through different experiences. And is why I decided to major in Spanish — since being bi-lingual would come in handy in many aspects of my life; travel, conducting business transactions, and incorporating in my art.

I’m looking forward to class since I love love love to read.

I’m wishing you all a great semester.
